Three days in October to celebrate 50 years of Valley’s oldest high school

Celebrations will kick-off Thursday 18 October at G.P. Vanier with a formal assembly for invited dignitaries and guests to officially unveil the seismically upgraded Vanier Secondary School – a $33.8 million renovation that commenced in July 2016.

Doors will then open to the general public for a community Open House Friday 19 October from 12 to 3 p.m.

Reunion celebrations for past and present Vanier educators, support staff and administrators are scheduled for Saturday 20 October beginning with a casual Meet and Greet and school tours between 2 and 4 p.m.

To finish off the celebrations, a Vanier Alumni committee will play host to a reunion for all past and present Vanier faculty members at the Comox Valley Curling Club on Saturday evening, 20 October, from 4:30 to 9 p.m.

Tickets to reunion events 20 October can be purchased from Teresa Dzuba in the Vanier school office or by email at or at 250 338-9262. Cost is $5 for the afternoon get-together and $25 for the evening event. Payment can be made by cash, cheque or credit card.
