This time of the year, students are sitting down to write provincial assessments known as the Foundation Skills Assesment (FSA) This time of year, confusion still surfaces about the assessment purpose.
FSAs are an annual province-wide assessment of all B.C. students’ academic skills in grades 4 and 7. Results of the FSA provide parents, teachers, schools, school districts, and the Ministry of Education with valuable information on how well students are progressing in the foundation skills of Reading, Writing, and Numeracy.
To help shed more light on FSAs, we sat down with Allan Douglas, Director of Instruction K-12, to get a better understanding of its purpose and process. Watch the informative video on the District YouTube Channel at https://youtu.be/OZBA_vc4pgQ
