Denman Island Receives Childcare Space Funding

Comox Valley Schools has received close to $1 million in funding from the Government of British Columbia to create much-needed licensed childcare spaces on Denman Island.
As part of the new provincial program Childcare BC New Spaces Fund, the province is helping fund the creation of 22,000 licensed childcare spaces throughout the province.

Courtenay Teacher wins Prestigious National Teaching Award

G.P. Vanier's Andrew Young was announced the winner of the 2019 Alex Trebek Medal for Geographic Literacy. Among other accomplishments, Young is piloting a new geographical sciences grade 11course with David Benton that focuses on the environmental sciences aspects of geography, as well as the impact of global climate change.
