PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS<\/h3>\n

This NEW program follows the SkilledTradesBC (formerly the Industry Training Authority or ITA) Apprentice outline.\u00a0 Students will do their 300hrs of technical training at Foundation Salon & Academy and their Work Based Training (990hrs) concurrently at a local salon (It may not be at Foundations).\u00a0 At the end of the program students will be well on their way to completing Hairstylist Level 1.\u00a0 While students are completing their Work Based Training hours they will be earning a wage.<\/p>\n

Students will be trained by qualified hairstylists\/instructors, to gain knowledge in advanced modern color techniques, color correction, creative custom foiling applications and hair lightening. Training in texture services includes an application of modern perming techniques. The hair cutting segment provides the foundation for modern cutting and texturizing techniques, razor and clipper cutting.\u200b\u00a0 \u00a0\u200b<\/p>\n

Hairstylists are one of the more in demand trades currently out there.\u00a0 It is a profession that you can easily start off in a salon, build a clientele and eventually start your own business.<\/p>\n

Past graduates have worked for salons in town such as;
\n<\/strong>Great Clips, First Choice Haircutters, Indigo Lounge, Kurt Claude Bigler, Roots the Salon, The Ironside Salon
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

Program Description<\/h3>\n

This program us suitable as an introduction to the hair industry. Students will be pre-pared to enter the industry as an apprentice, which is the first step towards becoming a Red Seal Hairstylist.
\nTopics include:<\/p>\n

\u2022 Introduction to hair types, textures, and growth patterns.
\n\u2022 Basic cutting techniques, including layering graduation, and texturizing.
\n\u2022 Signature haircutting method developed by Foundation Hair Academy.
\n\u2022 Client consultation and communication skills.
\n\u2022 Social media training for personal branding and marketing.
\n\u2022 Goal setting for personal and professional growth.
\n\u2022 Access to online theory, haircutting and styling videos.
\n\u2022 BeautySafe Level 1 General Trades Practices Certification.<\/p>\n
