DESCRIPTION:Forms will be sent home on Monday, and will need to be returned by Wednesday.\nSupervising Adults: Judi Ayers (Classroom Teacher), Natural History Stewards, BC Parks representatives, Parent Volunteers \nDestination and Nature of Activity: Annual restorative planting session at Helliwell Park  \nTransportation: First Student bus charters. Our Hornby school bus will transport students and teachers to and from Helliwell Park. \nEducational Objectives: Environmental Outdoor Learning, Place Based Learning, Social Responsibility, Science \nPossible Risks: injury consistent with risks of being outside (e.g. trip/fall, trees/branches, etc.). Injuries resulting from motor vehicle incidents (parking lot/accident/etc.) \nTravel Itinerary: \n12:45pm – Board the bus at the Hornby Island Community School \n1pm – Arrive at the parking lot at Helliwell Park, walk to the restoration site with supervisors \n3pm – Board the bus at Helliwell Park \n3:15pm – Arrive at the school in time for dismissal \nIf during instructional hours, alternate activity provided for non-participating students: \nRemaining at school with primediate group. \n \n
