Kris is of Ojibway, Cree and Irish on her fathers side and Welsh, Irish and English ancestry on her mothers side. She is a status member of Peguis First Nation in Winnipeg. Kris has lived in the Comox Valley on and off since 1991, since then, she lived in England for 10 years and in Nanaimo where she graduated from Vancouver Island University (VIU) with a Bachelor of Arts majoring in First Nations studies and minoring in Creative Writing studies. Kris has been working as a ISW for SD71 since 2015. Prior, she was a Aboriginal Education Assistant for SD68. Passionate for healing and exploring oneself through the arts, Kris also works as a Expressive Arts Therapist/practitioner in the Comox Valley.
