Jeannie McDonald dishinikawshon. Hello my name is Jeannie McDonald. I am a guest on this beautiful territory of the Komoks People; the Pentlatch (Puntledge), the Eiksan, the Sahtloot and the Sasitla. On my Mothers side I am Cree, French and Metis. On my Father\u2019s side I am Norwegian and Dutch. \u00a0I grew up in Northern Saskatchewan and Central Alberta. I moved here from Cold Lake, Alberta in January 2017. \u00a0I am a mother (Hockey Mom), a wife, a sister, a learner, and a jingle dancer.<\/p>\n<p>I have worked in schools for nearly 20 years in both elementary and high school settings.\u00a0\u00a0I celebrate my INED birthday every November 27th because being an ISW feeds me in so many ways. I love listening, learning, and sharing with the leaders of tomorrow.\u00a0 Spending time with knowledge keepers and youth provides me with the model of intergenerational teachings used by our ancestors for generations.\u00a0 Being an Indigenous Support Worker has changed my life in so many ways.
