I am of mixed <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun ContextualSpellingAndGrammarErrorV2 SCXW66333836 BCX0\">ancestry;<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW66333836 BCX0\"> Metis on my father\u2019s side and Scottish, English, Mexican, and Icelandic on my mother\u2019s. I\u2019m so grateful to have had the opportunity to grow, learn and play as a visitor <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun ContextualSpellingAndGrammarErrorV2 SCXW66333836 BCX0\">on<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW66333836 BCX0\"> the traditional, <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW66333836 BCX0\">unceded territory<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW66333836 BCX0\"> of the <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW66333836 BCX0\">Pentlatch, <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2 SCXW66333836 BCX0\">E\u2019iksan<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW66333836 BCX0\">, <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2 SCXW66333836 BCX0\">Sahtloot<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW66333836 BCX0\">, and <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2 SCXW66333836 BCX0\">Sasitla<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW66333836 BCX0\"> people<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW66333836 BCX0\">, as my family moved here over thirty years ago.<\/span><\/span><span class=\"LineBreakBlob BlobObject DragDrop SCXW66333836 BCX0\"><span class=\"SCXW66333836 BCX0\">\u00a0<\/span><br class=\"SCXW66333836 BCX0\" \/><\/span><span class=\"LineBreakBlob BlobObject DragDrop SCXW66333836 BCX0\"><span class=\"SCXW66333836 BCX0\">\u00a0<\/span><br class=\"SCXW66333836 BCX0\" \/><\/span><span class=\"TextRun SCXW66333836 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"none\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW66333836 BCX0\">I received my <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun ContextualSpellingAndGrammarErrorV2 SCXW66333836 BCX0\">Bachelor\u2019s<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW66333836 BCX0\"> of Education from UVIC in my early twenties and promptly moved overseas. I spent ten years living and teaching in the Middle East, Central America and South-East Asia and immersing myself in different cultures. I am forever grateful to those who have guided me along the way. My wife and I have since moved back to the Comox Valley and are raising one amazing little girl, who speaks English, Spanish and, at times, Spanglish. I look forward to sharing the amazing gifts that this land offers with her and instilling a love of nature in my daughter as she grows.<\/span><\/span><span class=\"LineBreakBlob BlobObject DragDrop SCXW66333836 BCX0\"><span class=\"SCXW66333836 BCX0\">\u00a0<\/span><br class=\"SCXW66333836 BCX0\" \/><\/span><span class=\"LineBreakBlob BlobObject DragDrop SCXW66333836 BCX0\"><span class=\"SCXW66333836 BCX0\">\u00a0<\/span><br class=\"SCXW66333836 BCX0\" \/><\/span><span class=\"TextRun SCXW66333836 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"none\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW66333836 BCX0\">As an educator, I hope to inspire students who excel not only academically, but also as kind, caring, socially responsible humans.
