My ancestral roots branch out from the Anishinaabe and Cree peoples of Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Minnesota, but I am registered to Tootinaowaziibeeng. I also carry Scottish and Norwegian ancestral ties within my bloodline and am adopted Musgamagw Dzawada&#8217;enuxw and Wuikinuxv. I have been a guest on the traditional unceded territory of the Pentlatch, <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">E\u2019ik\u02b7s\u0259n<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, Sahtloot and Sasitla peoples, also known as K\u2019omoks, for almost 30 years and am deeply grateful to live within this beautiful territory.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">I started my journey in the Comox Valley education system as a graduate, which led me to working as a cultural presenter, transitioning to an Indigenous Support Worker, and most recently attaining my teaching degree and being hired as an Indigenous Education Support Teacher.
