I am Ktunaxa, in my blood, in my body, and in my being.<\/p>\n<p>My lineage is mixed, likely scottish\/irish &#8211; and I am a recognized member of the Lower Kootenay Band. I come from Yaqan Nu\u0294kiy, Creston area, but I&#8217;ve lived almost everywhere in Ktunaxa \u0241amak\u0241is &#8211; from \u0294aqyam\u01c2up (nelson) where I spent my simmers camping and working wildfire &#8211; to \u0294akisk\u0313aq\u01c2i\u0294it (Cranbrook) where I studied and graduated college.<\/p>\n<p>Through a special credential developed in collaboration with the Ktunaxa nation, I studied Indigenous Support Work at College of the Rockies.
