Join LTCES in this student-lead waste reduction event at Lake Trail Community School on Earth Day, April 22nd. Consistent with our goals for connecting our students with environmental responsibility and creating community connections, we are hosting a Clothing Swap on Earth Day. This Pop-Up Clothing Free Store and Repair Café will give students and community members an opportunity to donate clothes (starting April 11th), come and shop for free, and to learn about ways of reducing textile waste through mending, darning, weaving and more. This is a chance for you to recycle your wardrobe. We will be accepting cleaned donations and providing opportunities for you and your child(ren) to do some free shopping on Friday, April 22. Feeling fresh and new doesn’t have to cost money or produce more waste. We all have clothes we are tired of, so send them out into your community with love.
Not only can you come and shop for free, but we are also bringing in Repair Café pros to help bring your clothing back to life. We’re opening up the Free Clothing Store and Repair Cafe to Lake Trail students during school hours, and to the public from 3:15 – 7:00pm on Friday, April 22nd.
