All students must get the supervisor\/employer report filled out and the student evaluation completed.<\/h5>\n<p>Completed and signed forms must be emailed back to the Career office at\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:dawn.stevens@sd71.bc.ca\">dawn.stevens@sd71.bc.ca<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www2.gov.bc.ca\/assets\/gov\/education\/kindergarten-to-grade-12\/support\/graduation\/graduation-policy-guide.pdf\">More information on the BC Graduation Policy<\/a><\/p>\n<h5><strong>BC Certificate of Graduation (Dogwood Diploma)<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>The BC Certificate of Graduation, or Dogwood Diploma, is awarded to students who successfully complete the provincial graduation requirements. In order to meet graduation requirements and be awarded a Dogwood Diploma, students must earn a minimum of 80 credits and write provincial Graduation Numeracy and Literacy Assessments. The 80 credits include 52 credits for required courses (including 8 credits of Career Education courses) and a minimum of 28 elective credits.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Required Courses<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>Credits must be earned in the following subject areas or courses:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\"><\/li>\n<li>Physical and Health Education 10 (4 credits)<\/li>\n<li>A Science 10 (4 credits)<\/li>\n<li>A Science 11 or 12 (4 credits)<\/li>\n<li>A Socials Studies 10 (4 credits)<\/li>\n<li>A Socials Studies 11 or 12 (4 credits)<\/li>\n<li>A Math 10 (4 credits)<\/li>\n<li>A Math 11 or 12 (4 credits)<\/li>\n<li>A Language Arts 10 (4 credits)<\/li>\n<li>A Language Arts 11 (4 credits)<\/li>\n<li>A Language Arts 12 (4 credits)<\/li>\n<li>An Arts Education 10, 11, or 12 and\/ or an applied Design, Skills, and Technologies 10, 11, or 12 (4 credits)<\/li>\n<li>Career-Life Education (4 credits)<\/li>\n<li>Career-Life Connections (4 credits)<\/li>\n<li>Indigenous-focused course(s) \u2013 (4 credits)*starting 2022\/2023 school year \u2013 this requirement will be met by students taking <strong>English First Peoples \u2013 Literary Studies + New Media 11<\/strong>\u00a0or\u00a0<strong>English First Peoples \u2013 Literary Studies + Writing 11<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h6>In addition:<\/h6>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\"><\/li>\n<li>At least 28 credits must be elective course credits<\/li>\n<li>At least 16 credits must be at the Grade 12 level, including a required Language Arts 12 course and the Career-Life connections course.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h6>In addition, students must also complete three Provincial Graduation Assessments:<\/h6>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\"><\/li>\n<li>Grade 10 Graduation Literacy Assessment;<\/li>\n<li>Grade 10 Graduation Numeracy Assessment and<\/li>\n<li>Grade 12 Graduation Literacy Assessment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A list of all courses that may be used to satisfy these requirements is found in the online <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bced.gov.bc.ca\/datacollections\/course_registry_web_search\/search-home.en.php\">Course Registry<\/a> Information about options for satisfying the requirements for Fine Arts and\/or Applied Skills is found in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.gov.bc.ca\/assets\/gov\/education\/kindergarten-to-grade-12\/support\/graduation\/graduation-policy-guide.pdf\">Graduation Program Policy Guide<\/a> and in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.gov.bc.ca\/gov\/content\/education-training\/k-12\/administration\/program-management\/graduation#handbook\">Handbook of Procedures for the Graduation Program<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For French Immersion\/Francophone Dual Dogwood<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>French Immersion students can earn both a BC Certificate of Graduation (Dogwood Diploma) and a Dipl\u00f4me de fin d\u2019\u00e9tudes secondaires en Colombie-Britannique.<\/p>\n<p>To graduate with both diplomas, French Immersion students must meet the graduation requirements for the Dogwood Diploma and, of these 80 credits they must earn:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\"><\/li>\n<li>At least 16 credits at the Grade 12 level (including a Fran\u00e7ais langue seconde-immerison course at the Grade 12 level).<\/li>\n<li>A Fran\u00e7ais langue seconde-immersion course at the Grade 11 level (4 credits) or IB French A2 (SL) 11.<\/li>\n<li>Fran\u00e7ais langue seconde-immersion 12 (4 credits).<\/li>\n<li>At least 12 credits in Grade 10, 11, or 12 courses that are in French with at least 4 of these credits at the Grade 11 or 12 level<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h6>In addition, French Immersion students must also complete four Provincial Graduation Assessments:<\/h6>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\"><\/li>\n<li>Grade 10 Graduation Numeracy Assessment (English or French);<\/li>\n<li>Grade 10 Graduation Literacy Assessment;<\/li>\n<li>Grade 12 Graduation Literacy Assessment; and<\/li>\n<li>\u00c9valuation de litt\u00e9ratie \u2013 Fran\u00e7ais langue premi\u00e8re 12.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Capstone Project<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A Capstone Project is a culminating presentation that will allow students the opportunity to showcase and demonstrate their journey of discovery during their time at Isfeld. Students will be expected to reflect on their school and community experiences that have helped shape who they are.
