I was born in Toronto, Ontario and later moved to Comox BC when I was 14 years old. My mother’s ancestry is of Metis background on both sides of her family. They originated from a small village of Caraquet, New Brunswick, where they still practice their traditional customs, as their elders did.

I grew up Camping and being outdoors for the most part of my childhood, learning about how we grow and catch our food.

I met my husband when I was just 16. He joined the military a few years later, we then married and have moved across country a few times. I have two beautiful girls that love the outdoors as much as myself.

My favourite thing to do in my free time is bake. I was on Season 3 of The Great Canadian Baking Show, one of the best experiences of my life.

I started working as an Early Childhood Educator a few years ago and was just introduced to Indigenous Education this past summer. I am very new to this field, but am very excited to be working with this amazing group of passionate people in a wonderful environment!
