My name is Giselaine Ballantyne. I work in the Indigenous Education office for School District 71, providing administrative support for our K-12 NIDES Indigenous Online learners.
Over the years I’ve had careers in various fields of work and have been working in School District 71 since 2013.
In 2008 I was privileged to be assigned to the Canadian military for three years to help implement their new healthcare software. It gave me the opportunity to travel across Canada and meet very dedicated clinicians and military personnel who shared their various cultures and experiences so openly. It was a personal life experience I will never forget.
Helping people learn and become independent is something I enjoy immensely.
I have two adult sons; a German Shepherd who keeps me fit; and take pleasure in all forms of creativity.
