Dà-ń-chʼe? Áyįzhì Natasha ùye. Hello, my name is Natasha Rainkie, and I am a proud Khanjet (Crow Clan) member of the Kluane First Nation. Our traditional territory is along the Kluane Lake in the Yukon, and I am a descendant of Southern Tutchone speakers. I also have Irish ancestry that comes from my Father’s side. I’ve spent most of my life on the traditional territory of the Stó:lō Nation in Chilliwack, where I had the privilege of raising my family.

My educational journey began in 2007, and throughout its peaks and valleys I came to understand that Indigenous Education is my passion. For me, relationships are at the heart of everything I do. Relationships with my family, friends, students, colleagues, and the land are all central to my wellbeing, guiding my actions and fostering a deep sense of responsibility towards others and to the natural world.

Within the Comox Valley School District, I have the honor of working as the K-12 K’ómoks First Nation Success Teacher. One of my favourite ways to connect with others is through storytelling or laughter, so please do not hesitate to reach out if you are looking for either.

Shä̀w níthän – Gilakas’la – Thank You.
