My name is Stuart Lyon, I am an Indigenous Support Worker at Highland, or I’katsi Secondary. I am of English and Scottish heritage on my mother’s side and Kwagiuth, Tlingit, and English heritage on my father’s side.
I am grateful to be to be a visitor on the traditional unceded territory of the K’omoks First Nations, including the Pentlatch, E’ikʷsən, Sahtloot, and Sasitla. I thank them for the gift of living on their lands and working with their people.
As an ISW I believe in creating connection and fostering a sense of belonging in each student we support. Our gathering space at the school is a place for all students to feel safe and welcome, where they feel valued and appreciated for all the gifts they bring. We work with families, teachers, administrators, and the wider school community to build positive outcomes for the students we support.
Please feel free to reach out at any time with questions and to see how we can support your child.
