Carnaval Week
We are excited to announce not just Carnaval, but a winter Festival Week celebrating École Puntledge Park’s French Canadian and Métis culture!
From February 9–13, our school will host Les Tambours de Glace: Là où la glace résonne au rythme des traditions / Drums of Ice Festival: Where ice echoes with tradition, inspired by Québec’s Carnaval and Winnipeg’s Festival du Voyageur.
Kick-Off Event: Cabane à sucre / Sugar Shack Pancake Brunch
- Sunday, February 8 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
- Maple syrup, pancakes, eggs, hashbrowns, beans & Métis food samples
- Live music & Métis cultural displays
- $5 per ticket soon available thru Munch-a-Lunch (limited seating, first come/first served, sales close at 9:00 a.m. on the day of the event)
During the school day, there will be classroom Métis workshops and student-run winter-inspired gym activities in the gym. On Friday, February 13, 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. PAC will host Festival Finale: Un bal masqué / Masquerade Ball in the school gym.
Festival Week is all about creating joyful memories for our students and it truly comes to life with the help of our amazing parent community. Even one hour of your time can make a big difference in helping these events run smoothly and ensuring our students have a fun, safe, and memorable experience.
