Gr.5 and Gr. 7 Leaving Ceremonies
Gr. 5 4-5pm
Here are a few details about the upcoming grade 5 Leaving Ceremony:
Date: Thursday, June 19th beginning at 4 pm ending at 5 pm . Students are asked to go home and return to their classrooms by 3:50 pm to prepare for the procession.
Location: in our beautiful forest on the creek side of the school. In case of inclement weather, we may relocate to the gym. Students will walk from their classroom through the centre of the ceremony area.
Dress – this is a special occasion and as such many students choose to wear something other than the daily attire. We encourage everyone to wear what they feel comfortable with. Dress more formally or less formally as your family sees fit.
Footwear – as the ceremony will likely be in our forest beside the school, please ensure that your footwear will be comfortable and functional for the processional and for walking in the forest
- Students will be organized in alphabetical order by surname and division for the handing out of certificates
- We will do a practice run-through prior to the event to help students get ready for how things will proceed
- All students are expected to be at school for the full day of the school leaving ceremony. They will have from 2:30-3:50 to prepare and change their clothes, if they choose to.
- Each student is encouraged to invite 2 guests to the event; if more than 2 want to come, please let them know that they may have to stand around the outside, as we have a limited number of chairs available
We look forward to seeing you there.
