Guidelines for Respectful Communications
Dear Families,
From time to time, parents and guardians may have questions or concerns. We value open communication and want to ensure that concerns are heard and addressed in a timely, respectful, and constructive manner.
To support positive and productive communication, we kindly ask that families:
- Presume positive intentions.
- Seek understanding first.
- Avoid assumptions.
- Recognize that Huband Park staff are dedicated professionals who care about students and work hard to support their learning and well-being.
When concerns arise, we ask that you begin by communicating directly with your child’s teacher, as they are often best positioned to provide context and resolve the matter quickly when related to the classroom context. If further support is needed, school administration (the principal or vice principal) can be available to meet with you. You can also email them to share your questions or concerns.
For meetings, we kindly request that families schedule an appointment if they wish to meet with the principal or vice principal. As schools are busy learning environments, arriving without an appointment may not allow staff to give you the time and attention your concern deserves.
Please also keep in mind:
- Due to the busy nature of schools, responses may take a few days. We appreciate your patience.
- When incidents involve other students, actions and consequences cannot be shared in order to respect confidentiality.
- Social media is not an appropriate or effective forum for resolving school concerns. Direct communication with school staff allows for clarification, collaboration, and meaningful solutions.
We are committed to working in partnership with families and appreciate your support in maintaining a respectful and collaborative school community.
Thank you.
