Kindergarten Registration Information for September 2024

Register your child at your Neighbourhood School (e.g. Royston Elementary)

Register your child for Kindergarten (or other grade) for the 2024 – 2025 school year here:  https://www.comoxvalleyschools.ca/student-registration/

If you don’t have access to a computer, please contact the school or the school board office for assistance.  Please note, registrations may not work properly if trying to register on a cellphone or tablet.

Documentation required for registration

Registration cannot go ahead without the following documentation.

• Child’s birth certificate, passport, or applicable immigration documentation
• Proof of residence (e.g. one of a recent utility bill, latest property tax receipt, proof of purchase, rental agreement, etc. Driver’s License is not considered proof of residence)
• BC Health Care Card (front and back) (Care Card can not be used instead of birth certificate or passport

Double check your catchment

Kindergarten Age Minimum

Your child must be at least five (5) years old on or before December 31, 2024 in order to be able to register for Kindergarten starting in September 2024.

Dates that Registration Opens Up for Each Program

• Dates that Registration opens for each program:
  • Neighbourhood (e.g. Royston Elementary) – Tuesday, January 23rd
  • Early French Immersion (Ecole Robb Road, Ecole Puntledge Park), Montessori (Queneesh, Courtenay El.) and Indigenous K-1 (Ecole Puntledge Park) – Tuesday, January 16th
  • Navigate (NIDES) Compass Program for Kindergarten – Wednesday, February 7th
  • Navigate (NIDES) Fine Arts eCademy (FAe) Program for Kindergarten – Wednesday, February 7th
