Tuesday’s Schedule: Day 2 –G H Lunch E F
- Election Day: The Student Government Election will be Thursday Oct. 16th during Lunch in the Gym! Come out and vote for your Grade Representative, Prime Minster, and Deputy Prime Minister
- Student Government candidates are giving speeches of intent on Tuesday, Oct. 14th during Lunch on Blue Stairs.
- Indigenous concession meeting on Tuesday, Oct 14th at lunch in room 117 (Indigenous gathering space).
- There will be a Model UN meeting in Ms. Slomp’s room (224) at lunch on Tuesday this week. Next week we will be back to Mondays.
- Swim Team: Brief but important meeting today at lunch in room 201 for all swimmers competing in the VI regional championships.
- Girl basketball players – all grades! If you are interested in playing basketball this season, come to the Highland gym at 7pm on Tuesdays to practice ang get ready for the upcoming season.
- Senior Boys Volleyball played VERY well on the weekend at VIU placing top 8.
- This Friday the Senior Boys Volleyball team are playing a home game vs Vanier. Game starts at 4. The Senior Girls team are playing Vanier starting at 5. Come out and support your Raiders!
- Attention MUN members! We have rescheduled our meeting for Wednesday, October 15th. We will be confirming attendance for the November conference. See you there!
- UVIC will be here on Wednesday at 2:00 for an engineering/ computer science presentation. Interested grade 11’s and 12’s are welcome. Please go to room 337.
- Local Refillery, a zero-waste store in Courtenay serving the Comox Valley and surrounding areas since 2020 is welcoming students who are looking to complete volunteer hours and are interested in sustainability. Here’s what we have in mind:

- Students would join us as Zero Waste Ambassadors, helping in the store and learning about our mission
- We would provide training, so they feel confident and informed about zero waste practices
- It is a hands-on, supportive environment where they can gain real retail industry experience
- If the fit is right, there is also the possibility of casual or part-time work down the line (Holiday Season, summer, etc)

- On Wednesday, October 15th – the Canadian Cancer Society is hosting their annual Virtual Youth Volunteer Fair! Join them online to discover fun and inspiring opportunities for students to help us change the lives of people affected by cancer. This is a great way to get volunteer hours for your grad requirement, or for future University applications and bursaries. For more information see the careers board in the career’s office.
