*There will be a brief mandatory senior boys soccer meeting today in Room 205 at start of lunch. Senior Boys’ Soccer will also have a light kickaround today on the back fields from 3:25 – 4:25pm.

🌍 Are you someone who loves global politics, political science, international relations, and debate? Then MODEL UNITED NATIONS is for you. We are actively recruiting members for our club. We are currently prepping for conferences in Victoria and Vancouver. Meet in room 224 at lunch on Tuesday, Sept. 22.
*Any students from the student government transition committee – we will be having a meeting today, September 17, at lunch in room 204 (Mr. Sutherland’s room).
*Highland Student Government is looking for people who want to develop their leadership skills and help to shape the direction of the school. Grade 10-12 students run as individuals, while students in Grades 8 and 9 have the option to run in pairs. There are also several roles available by interview after the election. Applications are open by the QR Code with the form until October 5!

*The District Robotics 71 club has an open house for students in grades 9-12 and parents. If you are interested in joining the valley’s only competitive robotics teams, come to the Highland AutoBot shop on Tuesday, September 22nd from 6pm to 7pm. We will be recruiting new members until we reach our limit. Don’t miss out!
*Students 14 and older wishing to take Food Safe, we are offering our first course of the year on Oct 21, 2026. Registration is on a first come basis, please come pick up a form in the careers office. Cost is $ 30 dollars
*Students 15 and older wishing to take First Aid, we are offering our first course of the year on Oct 27, 2026. Registration is on a first come basis, forms are in the careers office. Cost is $60 dollars
*Any students wishing to volunteer through the Big Brothers/Big Sisters mentoring program, please come and see Tracey in the careers office. This is a once-a-week time that you would go up to Brooklyn School and be matched with a little. This is a fantastic volunteering opportunity for your 30 hours and looks amazing on your resume. It’s a fun time to make a big impact on a younger student. Playing, reading, playing games to name a few activities.

*Indigenous Education – We would like to invite our students (students who identify as Indigenous) to come say hi to the Indigenous Education team in the Indigenous Gathering Space and have a Big Foot donut or gluten free treat. *Indigenous Leadership Group– We are looking for students to join our fundraising efforts. Please come see Sally or Stuart in room 117 to learn more about upcoming events.
The Comox Archives and Museum is looking for a volunteer (great 30-hour opportunity). The student would assist the Executive Director acting as a front-end docent, filing, and digitizing records and perhaps assisting with client research. If this sound like something, you maybe interested in please see Tracey in the careers office for the volunteer application.
*Students wishing to start on their volunteer hours and or those maybe interested in the health care field it is that time again…. Providence Living at the View retirement home is looking for their fall volunteers. This run Oct to the end of Jan. Once a week you go and volunteer with an event or special activity. Application packages are in the careers office. Deadline is Oct 5th.
*On Saturday September 19th at 11:00am Mount Washington Alpine Resort will be hosting a job fair at the main lodge where I hope to find bright young candidates to fill the roles of our graduated team members. What they offer is an opportunity to discuss our season and employment opportunities in the Lift Operations and Tube Park Department,
