Highland Indigenous Student Council
The council has been engaged in fundraising and helping to bring awareness to Indigenous issues that our students face. Some of the activities have included cultural awareness days, leadership at school wide assemblies, supporting elders in the community, supporting the Red Dress and Moosehide Campaign, Cultural Camps, supporting the Attiwapiskat crisis, promoting cultural pride and creating an inclusive setting for all students.

This is a Rotary affiliated club for Grade 8 – 12 students wanting to make a positive impact on the school, community, and world through service initiatives – one local and one Global . The club runs a variety of fundraisers and awareness campaign throughout the year

Outdoor Adventure Club
Join our club if you would like to go on hiking and backpacking adventures in the fall and spring! This club is primarily for students in grade 11 and 12 but if grade 10 students are welcome to join if there is additional space. Students do not need to have prior experience hiking or backpacking, but they will need to attend meetings to prepare for the outdoor adventures. Meetings times and dates will depend on the upcoming trips so pay attention to announcements to ensure you are able to attend all meetings.

Queer Straight Alliance
Are you someone who identifies as Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Trans, Queer, Questioning, etc., and/or a straight ally who cares about acceptance and safer spaces in our school? Highland’s Queer-Straight Alliance (QSA) meets every Wednesday at the beginning of lunch in Room 203. Come hang out, bring your lunch, and be a part of advocacy & events in our awesome community. If you like tinkering with mechanical things, come join the robot revolution and learn how to make the robots do as you command! Great opportunity to design, build and code VEX EDR robots to compete in regional tournaments.
