The Plumbing and Piping Trades Foundation Harmonized certificate combines practical, hands-on training in the workshop with theoretical knowledge from the classroom and computer lab.Gain important knowledge of workplace safety, piping tools and equipment, applied math and science for the piping trades and jobsite documents. This program allows you to complete your Level 1 technical training credit as well as 375 work-based hours in your chosen piping trade of Plumber, Steamfitter/Pipefitter or Sprinkler Fitter upon entering an apprenticeship.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

In recent years, graduates have found employment in several different related trades areas, including refrigeration, plumbing, sheet metal, oil burner service, gas fitting, and fire sprinklers. Recent enhancements to the program reflect current requirements of level one piping trades and will provide you with the initial experience required by the majority of employers.

APPRENTICESHIP DETAILS

A Plumbing & Pipefitting apprentice must complete a four-year program including 6420 workplace hours and 780 in-school hours of training completed in four levels of training, each for six to eight weeks.  After completion and achievement of a passing grade, the apprentice will hold the B.C. Certificate of Apprenticeship, B.C. Certificate of Qualification, and the Inter provincial Standard Endorsement also known as Red Seal.
