What is Dual Credit?
Dual Credit means that a student in grade 12 may take up to three college level courses or a certificate program in their grade 12 year and get college course credits (a college transcript) as well as gain elective course credits at their secondary school, for the same course= Dual Credit.
Fees: Students will have their tuition sponsored by the school district for the courses that they are taking. Student fees and books will be the responsibility of the student and their family.
Application Details: All students will need to complete the following through their careers office:
  1. District application
  2. Student Laerning Plan
  3. College Application
  4. Education Planner BC
  5. Student Transcript Services – https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/education-training/k-12/support/transcripts-and-certificates/order-a-high-school-transcript-or-certificate

Department of Accessible Learning (IEP Support)

For students who have an Individual Education Plan (IEP) or will be in need to supports at the college, the student will need to reach out to the Department of Accessible Learning one month prior to course start.

Students in grade 11/12 are to meet with their school Careers Support Teacher in their Careers Centre and together, you can explore your interested Career pathway and course options. There are many courses available at either North Island College, Camosun College, or Vancouver Island University, some are available within the high school schedule, others follow the college and University schedule. Please see your Careers Office for applications and support.
