Why broaden your skills?
Career explorations serves several purposes. First, it exposes elementary students to a variety of trades, skills and career fields and what those feel and look like. Secondly, it allows students to develop their confidence with hands on skills, ideas, tools, and thinking. Students will have the opportunity to explore three stations, these stations are, but are not limited to:
- Design Thinking
- Plumbing
- First Aid
- Electrical
- Forestry and Outdoor Careers
- Baking
- Cooking
- Soldering/Welding
- Work safe practices
Structure of the day
Station leads set up for program start. Students come out to the stations in establoished groups of 6. Students engage in 3 x 30min hands on learning stations. Students will then head back to thier class/school and the next group of learners will come out and take part.
