What is STEP?

STEP is a program that introduces students to the construction trades industry through hands on experiences in a realistic work environment.   Students will gain experience in various construction trades industries such as: Electrical, Carpentry, Welding and Concrete.  Throughout the program(s) students will work towards certifications that are needed to work in the construction trades industry Skills Ready BC

What students bring each day

STEP ONEroofing
Shop orientation, personal safety, tool safety & experience, basic electrical & carpentry, certifications and an introduction to concrete.

STEP TWO
Shop, tool/equipment safety & experience, electrical, construction framing, metal fabrication, certifications, concrete and an introduction to forklift.

STEP THREE

Forklift certification, supervisor and management certification, various special projects in  electrical, carpentry, metal fab or concrete.
