Carpentry

NIC’s 24-week Carpentry Foundation Harmonized Certificate is the standard provincial program for entry into the carpentry trade and is well-recognized by the residential and commercial building industries. During the program, you will develop the carpentry skills and knowledge needed for employment in the construction industry.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Carpenters work on projects such as; Hospital, bridges, Residential & Commercial construction, School’s, etc.

APPRENTICESHIP DETAILS

A carpentry apprentice must complete a four-year program including 6,480 workplace hours and 720 in-school hours of training completed in four levels of training, each for six weeks. After completion and achievement of a passing grade, the apprentice will hold the B.C.Certificate of Apprenticeship, B.C. Certificate of Qualification, and the Inter provincial Standard Endorsement also known as Red Seal.
