2025/26 Annual Budget Input Survey
The Comox Valley Schools’ Board of Education is seeking input from the school community and public for the 2025-26 school year in the district’s annual budget consultation process. Your participation in this survey will inform the Board in determining budget priorities for the budget year and beyond.
The Board of Education and district staff are committed to passing a budget that is in alignment with the Board’s Strategic Plan. The Strategic Plan can be found here.
The Board’s values should also be reflected in the annual budget.
These values are:
TRUTH AND RECONCILIATION COMMITMENT
We are deeply committed to learning, unlearning, and relearning and taking action for lasting Truth and Reconciliation.
LEARNING
Centering learning in all we do.
EQUITY
Leading with diversity as a strength and inclusion as a right.
RELATIONSHIPS
Connection, compassion, and respect in all that we do.
SAFETY
Learning communities where all feel safe and belong.
INTEGRITY
High ethical standards through transparency, honesty and accountability.
Community Feedback
Priorities identified by the community will be taken into consideration, after required allocations for staffing and maintenance of our schools and buildings are made and, strategic initiatives are funded. It’s important to note that funding from the Ministry of Education and Childcare is finite and allocated based primarily on enrollment, student demographics, and approved projects. Any new additions to the budget will likely need to be made through cost savings or efficiencies in other areas. Given the current economic climate, cost pressures are expected to increase and must be accounted for.
