Beetlejuice Jr. – District Musical runs Mar 10-14 at GP Vanier

Beetlejuice Junior

District Musical | March 10–14 | GP Vanier Secondary School

The ghost-with-the-most takes centre stage in Beetlejuice Junior, an irreverent musical comedy adapted for schools from the Broadway hit Beetlejuice, inspired by Tim Burton’s dearly beloved film.

Beetlejuice Junior tells the hauntingly comedic — and unexpectedly touching — story of Lydia Deetz, a strange and unusual teenager fascinated by the whole “being dead thing.” When Lydia moves into a new house, she quickly discovers it’s already haunted by a recently deceased couple, Adam and Barbara Maitland, and a delightfully devious demon named Beetlejuice.

Hoping to help the Maitlands keep their home, Lydia summons Beetlejuice by calling his name three times. What follows is a whirlwind of chaos, comedy, and musical mayhem as the double-crossing specter unleashes a Netherworld full of pandemonium.

Hosted this year by GP Vanier Secondary School, the district musical showcases the creativity, talent, and dedication of student performers from across Comox Valley Schools. With dynamic songs, bold characters, and laugh-out-loud moments, Beetlejuice Junior is a theatrical experience audiences of all ages will enjoy.
