PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

This program combines online learning with real hands on experience in a local Auto Collision repair shop.   The day typically starts with the student working on the online theory portion of the program.  In the afternoon the student would be in the shop.  Throughout the program an instructor from VCC would come to the community and work with the student(s) on specific hands on program requirements

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Automotive Collision Repair Technicians are one of the more in demand trades currently according to the BC Labour Market Review.  Students that go through this program are regularly hired in the Comox Valley.

Courtenay Collision, CSN Reliable, TC Valley Collision Ltd, Willy’s Collision

APPRENTICESHIP DETAILS

An Autobody and Repair Technician apprentice must complete a four-year program including 6450 workplace hours and 750 in-school hours of training completed in four levels of training, each for ten weeks. After completion and achievement of a passing grade, the apprentice will hold the B.C. Certificate of Apprenticeship, B.C. Certificate of Qualification, and the Inter provincial Standard Endorsement also known as Red Seal.
