Notification of amendments to the District Calendar for the 2023-2024 school year

The current School District Calendar was established by the calendar committee during the 2020-2021 school year, and it covers the 2021-2022/2022-2023/2023-2024 school years.

The Calendar Committee consists of members from senior leadership, CVPVPA, CDTA, CUPE, DPAC and a trustee representative. Feedback is solicited from all groups and the calendar is set in consultation with those mentioned above.

The calendar is set for three years so that partner groups and parents can plan ahead knowing that the calendar has been set and important dates are in place. At times, amendments are needed to the calendar for a variety of reasons. Looking at next year’s calendar (2023-2024) there are two specific amendments that are needed:

  1. Make October 2, 2023, a Non-Instructional Day in lieu of the Stat. Holiday (Reconciliation Day) on Saturday, September 30th in order to be in line with the Provincial Stat. Holiday.
  1. Move the August 31st Non-Instructional Day to September 5th. This will make the first official day of school with students in session September 6th
