Comox Valley Schools begins 2026-2027 preliminary budget consultations
Comox Valley Schools is inviting everyone in our school community to help shape priorities for the district’s 2026–2027 preliminary budget through a public survey now open until February 20, 2026.
This year, the district is launching budget engagement earlier in the school year to strengthen transparency, collaboration, and shared understanding of the financial context that shapes decisions about student learning and school services.
“Community voice plays an important role in helping align our resources with our values and our strategic priorities,” said Board Chairperson Michelle Waite. “By beginning this process earlier, we are hoping to create more space for meaningful dialogue and collective stewardship.”
The public survey invites participants to share their perspectives on which strategic design principles should receive particular focus in the coming year, and provides space for suggestions for the board to consider as it examines budget priorities.

Engagement methods include presentations, meetings, facilitated discussions, surveys, written submissions, and information sharing throughout the process.
The district is committed to respectful, inclusive, and ongoing dialogue with education rights-holders, partners, and school community throughout the preliminary budget cycle.
