Brightspace LMS FAQ
Comox Valley Schools uses D2L Brightspace a learning management system (LMS) designed to help students, teachers, and parents access learning materials from anywhere with an internet connection.
Below are some commonly asked questions related to this system.

How do I log in to Brightspace? (Staff & Students)
Access this link: https://sd71.onlinelearningbc.com and select “Student & Teacher Login”. You will need to log in with your SD71 credentials.
How do I log in to Brightspace as a parent/guardian?
Access this link: https://sd71.onlinelearningbc.com and select “Parent/Guardian Login”. If you have not logged in before, you will need to click the “Forgot your password?” link and use the email address on file with the school to proceed with resetting your password.

You will need to contact your teacher to have your login password reset.
How and when are learning updates and final grades distributed?
Reporting follows the standard school year and term/semester schedule. Each school will communicate when learning updates are available, whether published via MyEducation BC or printed and sent home.

I would like to enroll or modify the courses I am enrolled in, who should I contact?
Online learning (NIDES) – to make changes to your current enrolments, you can contact the NIDES Registrar via email. To enroll in new courses, please visit the NIDES website.
All other schools – please contact your school office/counsellor about your schedule.
